YongKang Lu now boasts a legit burger bar admix the crowd of sushi, fish and chip, and wine bars. Ever on the search for the ultimate burger in Shanghai, Sliders has taken the prize as our favorite burger joint. It has a great location and is reasonably priced.
Sliders are 30 rmb each or 3 for 75 rmb. Pair that with a generous happy hour, 2-8pm everyday and you’ve got another bumping bar on YongKang Lu. Monday’s offer two sliders and a pint of Stella for 50 rmb. And, from 5-8pm on Sundays you can enjoy live acoustic music.
These burgers topped with quality cheese, fresh herbs and vegetables will blow your taste buds away. No packaged, flavorless cheese here. I could actually taste the swiss and blue cheeses. Even the bread was good. My favorite part was not having to choose which burger to get. I chose which burgers. Everyone wins! We got Magic Mushroom, Blues Brother and My Big Fat Greek Slider. Flavor central. Bill and I spilt 3 sliders and were satisfied. They are decently sized. Calling them sliders is a bit of an understatement.
Their simple menu offering sliders bar (beef, chicken and veggie), sandwiches and breakfast won’t tempt you away from the main show with any potato products. The burgers are so flavorful that you don’t need fries to accompany them. They are mouth watering on their own. I’m a huge french fry fan, but I didn’t miss them.
For when fish n’ chips, sushi, pizza and pastry aren’t calling your name, Sliders can satisfy your craving. YongKang Lu pretty much offers everything. No wonder hours disappear on one street. The laws of time and place don’t apply there.
